MAKING A DIFFERENCE

The Athletes vs. Crohn’s & Colitis Scholarship is given to a high school athlete“who has demonstrated qualities consistent with the belief that luck is largely a byproduct of persistence,
hard work, and positive attitude in tough or unfamiliar situations.”

To qualify for consideration, applicants must:

• Be undergoing treatment for Crohn’s Disease or Ulcerative Colitis at Cleveland Clinic or Mt. Sinai IBD Clinical Center
• Be a High School Senior active in athletics and attending full-time college in the Fall of 2023
• Display courage, resiliency, and refusal to let IBD hold them back from reaching their goals

We were honored to present these two world class facilities with checks for $25,000:

• Marla Dubinksy, MD of the Susan and Leonard Feinstein IBD Clinical Center (Noah’s treatment center)
• Robert Wyllie, MD of The Cleveland Clinic (Larry’s treatment center)

Both Larry and Noah are extremely thankful for the support of their medical care teams over the years, as they are both is now in remission! AVC is excited for the opportunity to give back to Marla and Robert, as well at the IBD community, and inspire more young people batting Crohn’s and Colitis to continue to pursue their goals despite living with a chronic illness!

Your donation will help fund these initiatives: our "give back" events, bringing together kids with IBD and their families; provide scholarships for college; and support important research and collaborations.
