About Athletes vs Crohns & Colitis

Athletes vs. Crohn’s & Colitis was founded in January of 2017 by Larry Nance Jr. and Noah Weber. Both were diagnosed with Crohn’s during their adolescent years and both were aspiring athletes who sought mentors who reached their athletic potential. Together they show that chronic illness doesn’t have to hold you back from reaching your goals.

We were honored to present these world class facilities with checks for $25,000:

• Marla Dubinksy, MD of the Susan and Leonard Feinstein IBD Clinical Center (Noah’s treatment center)
• Robert Wyllie, MD of The Cleveland Clinic (Larry’s treatment center)

The annual AVC Scholarship is given to 

a high school athlete attending college full-time who is undergoing treatment in the Cleveland or NYC area. Applicants need to demonstrate qualities that show luck is largely a byproduct of persistence, hard work, and positive attitude in tough or unfamiliar situations.

From golf outings to 3-on-3 basketball tournaments to hosting pediatric IBD patients and their families at some of Larry’s NBA games throughout the season for a night of dinner and basketball, Athletes vs Crohn's is following their goals to raise awareness and direct funds towards research and a cure for Crohn’s and colitis.
